This thing emerged from the same blender brush marks that made the background, selectively highlighted and worked into in increasing detail until this mycelial creature started to take shape from the ground. Tendrils were added in towards the edge with finer brushes so and the eyes were added in toward the end, specifically set up to look wide eyed and pleading, as if this is the fate of some poor soul trapped in the substrate.
