This was a design for a run of shirts for 2024 Byker Grave Festival,and the brief was to do something with the image of lucifer portrayed on the Avé album art, but also incorporate the Tyne Bridge. So with a bit (a lot) of artistic license taken with the scale and proportions of the bridge itself, I set up a version of lucifer looming over the landmark. I was asked to fill out the background once the main design was complete, so added in a pentagram with some kind of portal in the centre of it behind the big lad’s head. Human figure (albeit demonic in this case) isn’t necessarily my forté, so this was good practice and I think the source lighting from below came together nicely.

This was done in ink with a grotty little fine brush that I’ve become very fond of. Scanned in with some minor tweaks and layered together with the logo, pentagram and text digitally.
