Beast
This was a pretty invested diorama built from various off the shelf OO scale parts and a whole bunch of sculpted and pieced together parts to make the ‘backline’ and characters. It turns out that canal boats and band equipment are not common features of the average train set, so the boat was a very basic balsa wood kit that I heavily embellished and the band was some very basic figures that were heavily modified. The idea was from a discussion now lost to time about how badly things would go if we tried to tour on a canal boat. Finished this off with a lick of paint and flocking and filled in the canal with some model grade resin, then photographed it with a good quality phone camera.
The layout was also by me, which gave me a chance to keep the cover pretty minimal and have events unfold as you opened the packaging.
Beast was released on cassette by Cruel Nature Recordings and CD by Inverted Grim-mill.
