Lump Hammer was a long running sludge/noise-rock/riff band based around repetition. The premise for the project was that each song could only be made up of one riff, or repeated pattern and the change came from the variations on that theme, whether by dynamics, texture or rhythm.

this generally took on a pretty maximal tone, but the framework allowed for a lot of scope, including a one off acoustic set, and a two hour dirge in Northumbria University’s gallery space, among other things.
