Cover art and layout
The images for this are made from a wooden box covered with expanding foam, which was then covered with layers of gloss black paint with any extra paint bleeding out onto the board the box was on. They were just shot with a phone camera, but with the contrast boosted and any context of the original object cropped out, they give an abstracted oil like effect that fits really well with the tone of the music. The digital album cover was photographed against a yellow and white background and that comes through in the reflections, and the dark cassette shot was against some salmon/red coloured carpet. The cassette art is an additional layer of gloss over the previous version, and the plan is to add an additional layer with each release, slowly obscuring detail until the image is of a smooth (ish) surface.
Layout duties were also by me, as are lyrics and vocals. Blinked is written to some notes Jake supplied in terms of structure and concept and Collapse is my usual bleak political screed.
Blinked was original released digitally here.
Both tracks were released on cassette by Cruel Nature recordings here.
