The design for this was based loosely around the Tempest Prognosticator, a nineteenth century invention for predicting storms using leeches in glass bottles that would climb as atmospheric pressure changed, dislodging pieces of bone that were tethered to bells. I decided to focus in on one bottle, having the leech reaching for the neck, and about to dislodge the bone, with some gathering abstracted clouds toward the mouth. This was done in brush pen on paper, then scanned in.
