Dust Might

Dust Might was based around the physical way that sound is produced from vinyl records, and the idea of magnifying the imperfections inherent in that. The Installation consisted of a customised record deck rewired to play records at 8rpm and resprayed so as to hide any text or control information. This played a blank groove record that I had allowed to gather dust at high volume into the gallery, amplifying clicks and pops into booms and bangs that reverberated around the space.

Dust Might was part of the BxNU respond programme and was ‘performed’ as part of the Curves Of The Needle exhibition.

I did a little interview about the piece in the video at the bottom of the page.
