This was initially documentation of installation work, which then performed better as a photograph. Made from a metal ring filled with oil and surrounded by peat, the lack of reflection on the oil’s surface and the directed light sits it in this uncanny realm of endless depth, particularly with no end or context to the soil. I was pretty interested in what kind of projected experience was supposed to happen inside dolmens and burial chambers at this point so this is loosely what it’s trying to get at.
