Colony was a follow on from the Gathering piece. I stitched together some more hessian cocoons, this time filling an empty office space with them, as they anchored themselves by their strings to all available surfaces. Instead of dripping fluid, these forms had speakers embedded within them, wired up to a number of cheap hi-fi systems hidden in the ceiling. These played a set of looped chimes like sounds, that were then spread spatially through the speakers embedded in the forms, creating a sort of aleatory sound piece by virtue of the differences in rest time and sync between the various hi-fi mechanisms.
