Part of a brief spate of novelty cartoon themed noisegrind, Sector 7G was a Simpsons themed improvised grind outfit that I think has played one gig to date. Cartoons of any type are ideal for grind in that they’re full of quotable phrases for sample purposes and also make perfect absurd lyrics to be screeched out of context. We all donned suitably ad hoc costumes, including a Marge Simpson dress and several ‘Stretched Marge’ masks that I replaced between songs.

The project was resurrected for Matt’s version of a stag-do, in which we wrote and recorded an EP in the space of a day at First Avenue Studios.

The van and Matt likeness is digitally drawn by me and overlayed onto a still of 742 Evergreen Terrace.
