Shrimp is an occasional supergroup revolving around the talents of Ryosuke Kiyasu (Sete Star Sept, Fushitsusha, solo snare drum et al). Each time he’s played Newcastle a shifting group of musicians has coalesced into Shrimp to play what we’ve been describing as ‘free-grind- and which feels like the most appropriate tag line for the whirling intensity that comes out of those jams.

To date there have been four renditions of Shrimp, three of which were recorded live in the studio at First Avenue studios. Long may Shrimp continue.
